About Me
I’m an Award-Winning Game Designer with 5+ years of experience creating gameplay and player experiences that are fun, intuitive, and memorable. I’m passionate about gameplay design, UX/UI, and finding creative ways to make games feel authentic and unique. I love taking ideas apart and thinking outside the box to find solutions that will create innovative and, more importantly, unique game experiences.
I’ve been passionate about video games since the PS2 days, and I’ve always been drawn to experiences that do something unexpected or approach familiar ideas differently. Standouts for me were Sonic Unleashed, Ratchet and Clank and Sega Superstars. What excites me most about games is their ability to create experiences that can’t exist anywhere else, and how those experiences can bring people together.
I graduated from Swinburne University with a Bachelor of Games and Interactivity, where I focused on UX design, gameplay mechanics, game theory, mixed reality, and animation. I also completed a Graduate Diploma of Management and Learning at the Academy of Interactive Entertainment (AIE), which helped accelerate my personal and professional development. Alongside developing my game development skills, I studied game business, networking, and professional development, giving me a stronger understanding of how to work effectively with others, build industry relationships, and navigate the business side of games.
AIE also helped me become more confident working in groups and communicating ideas, while giving me insight into what it takes to establish and grow a business within the games industry. These skills have continued to influence how I approach teamwork, leadership, networking, and my long-term ambition to build my own studio. I was also thrilled to receive the Entrepreneurial Leadership Award for showcasing entrepreneurial and leadership qualities within game development environment and community.
Although I enjoy designing games, I am just as passionate about the people and the community that make up the industry.
I’m currently a Treasurer and Committee Member of IGDA Melbourne, where I support local events and initiatives, represent the committee at industry events, and help bring developers together through events such as the Global Game Jam and Megadev. I’ve also had the opportunity to contribute to the wider Australian games industry as a judge for the Australian Game Developer Awards.
I genuinely enjoy working with people, whether that means leading a team, bouncing ideas around with another designer, collaborating with artists and programmers, or simply talking games with someone I’ve just met. I’m known for being organised, energetic, collaborative, and easy to talk to, and I enjoy creating an environment where people feel comfortable sharing their ideas.
Software and Tools I Use
I also have experience with Unreal Blueprints, Bolt Visual Scripting, C#, HTML, CSS, PHP, and MySQL.
I would like to continue to develop my skills as a designer and to get a feel for various aspects of the game development industry. My aim is to make contributions to both independent and AAA studios, collaborating with skilled individuals to produce games that are ambitious, memorable and a little bit different.
In the end, I would like to take all that I have learned and set up my own studio.
I would like to design games which have the same effect on people as the games that inspired me when I was young—games that make players curious, challenge expectations, bring people together, and leave them with an experience that they remember long after they have put the controller down.
That's exactly why I love games.
They give designers like me the chance to create worlds, experiences, and memories that couldn’t exist anywhere else.
